Red beans & Rice

All the flavors come together beautifully and isn't overly spicy.
Picture
2 (16 oz.) cans of red kidney beans
2 cups of rice
1/2 lb. of smoked sausage chopped
4 1/2 cups of water
2 teaspoons of hot sauce
2 teaspoons of salt and pepper
                                            2 teaspoons of oregano
                                                         1 jalapeno chopped
                                                         2 Tablespoon of garlic salt
                                                         2 teaspoons of ground sage
                                                         2 teaspoons of parsley
2 tea spoon of chili powder
In a large pot sauté the sausage and jalapenos. Stir in the salt, pepper, oregano, garlic salt, sage, parsley, and chili powder. Now add the water and hot sauce and bring it to a boil. Once at a boil, stir in rice and beans, and continue to boil for  5 minutes, stirring to keep it from burning. Lastly  turn the heat down and let simmer until the rice and beans are tender. Goes great with garlic bread.
