Sewing on a patch

I'm going to show you how I can get longer use out of my kids clothes. AidenLee has this pair of overalls that love to wear but their are two very large holes in the knees that his leg keeps getting stuck so I went to the fabric store and bought some of the scrap fabric and let him pick out which color he wanted.

 You will need:
needle
thread
pins
square piece of fabric


​​I started by stitching up the ends a little to make the hole a little more round.

Now to pin the fabric in place.

I went ahead and sewed three rows to make it more secure.

 Trim any extra fabric.

Trim the extra jean as well.

 Then I flipped it over and did the other side.

I just tackled sewing on a patch! It was a fun way to add some personality to my (article of clothing). I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but with a little patience and some helpful tips online, I managed to get it looking neat and secure. Now I can't wait to show it off!
